After graduating in Electronic Engineering from the Bologna University Stefano Malferrari began his professional career with Arthur Andersen Management Consultants (now Accenture).

Then, during his career of over 30 years, Stefano took a number of leading positions in strategic consultancy, finances and wealth management.

In 1995 he joined Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze (now Banca Intesa) heading the Planning and Control department and later the Commercial Retail area. Then he moved to Rolo Banca (now Unicredito) to head the Finance Department.

In 2000 he joined Monte dei Paschi di Siena Group as Managing Director of Banca C.Steinhauslin & Co establishing a landmark in the Italian private banking thanks to his innovative approach based on the key concept of bankers to support the growth of human and intellectual capital of the family, concept analysed in the book Imprenditore Nato (Born Entrepreneur) by Angelo Vergani for II Sole 24 Ore.

In 2004 he took over the Monte Paschi branch in Monaco to convert it into the international private bank of the Group.

In 2013 he co-founded Sostake SCP, his own wealth management company and became an active member of MVCA (Monaco Private Equity and Venture Capital Association).

Throughout his career Stefano Malferrari joined a number of professional organizations and associations, including the Board of Directors of AMAF (the Monegasque Banks and Financial Companies Association), the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Marco Vigorelli, the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy and the Steering Commitee for Knowledge Management of the Ambrosetti Club. He is a member of A.I.S. (Associazione Italiana Sommelier) since 2004.

Mr. Malferrari is a regular speaker at conventions, conferences and seminars and author of financial and economic articles.
